OBJECTIVE OF THE DAY:
THE NEXT DIMENSION IN IMPLANT AESTHETICS:
AN ARCHITECTURAL PLAN AND VISION FOR SUCCESS
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES:
This session will emphasize strategies to idealize the esthetic outcome of
treatment from surgery to case completion.
|
| |
•Surgical and restorative strategies to optimize soft tissue form and
health from the time of tooth extraction through to final
restoration.
• Fundamentals of implant placement and restoration, focusing on
the unique requirements of the partially edentulous patient.
• Hard tissue regeneration. What is realistic?
• Atraumatic extraction techniques, immediate implant placement,
flapless and guided implant surgery.
•Conventional and new implant designs (scalloped implants, onepiece
implants and platform switching) in the esthetic zone:
defining their importance in hard and soft tissue stability
•3-D implant positioning: the critical impact on esthetic success
•Soft tissue management: The essential role of connective tissue
grafts and flap design in soft tissue stability around teeth and
implants.
• Provisionalization: fine tuning the soft tissue architecture. Easily
implemented techniques:
a. Pontic site development and implant site development;
b. Chairside provisionalization strategies;
c. Final abutments placed at the time of surgery
• Techniques to transfer accurate information to the laboratory
about soft tissue form around implants.
• Optimizing gingival tissue colour around implant abutments/
facilitating the cementation process using Zirconia abutments and
all-ceramic crowns.
• Inter-implant papilla: the persisting challenge.

SYNOPSIS:
Conventional concepts in esthetic
restorative treatment generally
focus on tooth form and colour.
Today, it is unquestionably
recognized that the interplay with
the surrounding gingival framework
plays an equally important
role in the esthetic outcome. An
understanding of how to enhance
tissue architecture in conjunction
with restorative treatment is a key
element to a successful esthetic
result.
This presentation will focus
on the important interaction
between the restoring dentist/
prosthodontist, the periodontist
and other specialties, in achieving
exceptional esthetic treatment
outcomes.
This course is suitable
for dentists, dental specialists and
auxiliary staff with an interest in
implants, prosthodontics and
esthetics.
